About Us

	Dr. Scott Carlson

Dr. Scott Carlson has been a Family Physician serving Grand Rapids for twenty five years. His practice has included pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics (with over five hundred deliveries), dermatology, biopsies, excisions, back pain, disease management, and preventative medicine.

He has emphasized quality care and has offered the latest technology available to his patients. Consequently, Family Care Center has won recognition from Blue care Network and Priority Health for excellence in patient care.

Dr Carlson is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine for the Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has also been recognized with the Preceptorship Award from Western Michigan University for his teaching of PA students.

Dr. Carlson prides himself on giving back to the community, which is evidenced by his participation in Project Access, support of various local charities, and leading his medical team into Guatemala, Peru, and Honduras every year.

Nisha McKenzie is a certified physician assistant who graduated with a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western Michigan University in 2002. She has worked side by side with Dr. Carlson since that time focusing on family medicine, dermatology, women’s health, and laser medicine. When she is not in the office, she is home with her husband and 3 children.

Alli Nachtegall is our esthetician and is also a licensed cosmetologist. Alli graduated from Douglas J Aveda Institute in 2008. She has trained extensively in both laser medicine and skin care and continues to attend many conferences to further her expertise.
